From sandstones, tree trunks and branches, found and collected on and around the Abbey Hill, several sculptures representing spades and rakes were created. Their size varies from very large to very small and they blend into the landscape.
The observer encounters these objects as if by chance. They are typical tools, as if from the active days of gardening, carelessly left standing and lying around.
Memories of horticulture and agriculture are thus awakened in passers-by and their own references can be made.

The graduate sculptor and cultural educator Christine Nicolay is a lecturer, freelance artist and maintains a private sculpture garden in Greimerath. There is also her studio. Here she accompanies and supports mourners who would like to design their own gravestone for their deceased.
